Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 29, 2012. We invite you to attend an Early Childhood Vision Workshop focusing on the needs of infants and toddlers who are blind or visually impaired. This workshop is focusing on early childhood service coordinators, early childhood special education teachers, paraeducators, SLPs, OTs, PTs, special education teachers, and administrators. The workshop will be held at ESU 11 in Holdrege, 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The presenter will be Candace Rehmeier, Outreach Consultant for NCECBVI. Topics to be presented include the following: common eye conditions associated with children and their ‘red flags,’ the role of the teacher of the visually impaired in orientation and mobility, simulation activities, tactile and visual supports, essential role of assessment, and accessing appropriate educational materials.
